Pops in the Park!
One early summer afternoon at Waterworks Park, along the Riverwalk, surprise Whatever Pops brought many smiles, and again, later in the summer at Julian B. Lane Riverfront Park where pops made it to the new splash pad, soccer field and even the red bench Walk of Shade. POPS even made it to the famous Plant Museum porch just up from Plant Park on the University of Tampa’s campus, one lovely day this Fall… you never know where we’ll turn up!
In addition to projects with the City of Tampa Parks and Recreation Department, the Foundation is working with the Tampa Downtown Partnership. Donated boxed lunches and bottled waters were served during the Partnership's week in Gaslight Park. The Foundation joined the Public Art Conference in Perry Harvey Park to welcome conference visitors with a gourmet popsicle (Whatever Pops) midway through their public art tour. Throughout the summer "Pops in the Park" may spontaneously appear in a park near you! (scroll down for images) In the newly opened Julian B. Lane Riverfront Park, a row of red benches was installed to line a shady walk into the park, and the Foundation is providing shade structures to complete the designated recreational areas. Coming in Fall, the Foundation will have an exciting entertainment project to announce - stay tuned!
